Ask the oil companies why they aren't drilling in the places they are already allowed to drill. They are already allowed to drill places that they aren't. This is NOT the Democrats fault.Is Obama wrong to bash oil companies when the Democratically controlled Congress is more to blame?
Congress loves the abuses that the speculators are inflicting on the people. Making speculators put up the full amount when buying futures could end the madness. Congress could also take positive action by rationing gasoline. Imaging the effect of that on speculators?? Just the thought of it could drive the price down 40% almost overnight. Obama fails to understand that Oil companies are the backbone of most retirement plans. Those earnings flow right into pension funds and 401k's.
The Oil Companies are free to drill at any time in many, many places where it is known that oil exists. They do not build more refineries because the refineries we have now are only running at about 85% of their capacity. They don't want to build more. The Congress of the US really cannot FORCE the oil companies to drill for more oil or build more refineries. And where were the Republicans when they controlled the White House and Congress for 6 years ?? I'll tell you where they were. They were extremely busy soliciting other men for sex in public toilets and trying to get into the trousers of the House and Senate Pages, packing up to go to jail for corruption, and lying us into unnecessary wars to get 4100 of our troops killed, and allowing BILLIONS of dollars of our tax money to be stolen, raising the national debt (which our kids and grandkids will have to pay) beyond all reason, and preventing any inspection of goods coming into the country to keep out tainted drugs that kill us or our kids, even our dogs and cats. They were DEMONICALLY busy !!!!
We should save our oil until we really need it just like China and Russia does. Think about it, if their is more oil supply that means lower profits for oil companies and the morals of a corporation is to profit and shareholder. Nuclear plants take 18+ years to pay back what energy it takes to build and they use a ton of fresh water which will be the new oil.
Seems odd for Obama to bash the oil companies that he is in bed with $$, via huge financial contributions.....just another Obama deception.
Since oil companies are funding Obama 2 to 1 over McCain, I think he is biting the hand that feeds him.

they had carte blanche, why did they just sit there and use Washington like thier own private ATM's????
